Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro, born on September 1, 1994, is a Spanish racing driver who currently competes in Formula 1 for Scuderia Ferrari. Carlos Sainz Jr. grew up surrounded by rally cars and racing legend. His father, Carlos Sainz Cenamor, achieved international fame as a two-time World Rally Champion. From a young age, Sainz Jr. developed a passion for speed and competition.At the age of 11, Sainz Jr. began his racing career in karting. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning multiple karting championships. In 2013, he made his single-seater debut in Formula Renault 3.5, where he finished as runner-up in his first season.
Sainz Jr.'s impressive performances in junior categories led to his debut in Formula 1 in 2015. He joined Toro Rosso, the junior team of Red Bull Racing. Sainz Jr. spent two seasons with Toro Rosso, establishing himself as a consistent and reliable driver.
In 2017, Sainz Jr. moved to Renault, where he remained for two seasons. He achieved his first podium finish in Formula 1 at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix, finishing third behind Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
